My Diagnosis and Treatment

For those of you who aren't facing breast cancer, none of these words will mean anything. However, sometimes people (like me) search through other people's breast cancer blogs, just looking for someone with the same breast cancer. If you are one of those people, this page is for you.

• Lump discovered during self exam at age 39 and 11/12ths
• Diagnosis on March 1, 2012, 4 days after 40th birthday
• Invasive ductal carcinoma
• Grade 2 cells
• 2.5cm lump in right breast with 2 satellite lesions
• 4/12 positive right axillary lymph nodes
• Stage 3a (by 1 lousy lymph node)
• ER+/PR+
• HER2-
• Bilateral mastectomy (March 16, 2012)
• Tissue expanders placed during mastectomy - 360ccs, no expansions
• Chemo -  Adriamycin/Cytoxan 4x dose dense biweekly (April 12 - May 24, 2012)
• Chemo -  Taxol 2x weekly (June 15 and 22, 2012) then white blood cells too low, so...
• Chemo - Taxol 3x dose dense biweekly (June 29 - August 3, 2012)
• Hormone therapy - Tamoxifen for 5 years (began August 31, 2012)
• Radiation 28 days (Sept. 5 - Oct 12, 2012) 
• Diagnosed with hypothyroid (Feb. 1, 2013), probably an effect of radiation - synthyroid
• Implant exchange surgery (March 22, 2013)
• Popped Boob Repair (April 26, 2013) 
• Right silicon implant removed due to skin failure (May 29, 2013)
• Left silicon implant removed and skin tightened on both sides (Oct. 7, 2013)
• Pain in left side of pelvis, suspicious lesions detected (Dec. 2015)
• Changed hormone therapy from Tamoxifen to Femara w/ Lupron injections (Feb. 2016)
• MRI and CT scan verify bone metastases, 4 lesions on pelvis (April 28, 2016)
• Begin Zometa treatments (May 18, 2016)
• Begin Ibrance (June 2016)
• Oophorectomy (July 21, 2016)
• Change from Zometa to Xgeva (Nov. 2016)
